Day 2: Defining Your Career Values – What Really Matters?
Welcome to Day 2 of the Burnout Reset Challenge!
Welcome to Day 2! Yesterday, we explored burnout and how it signals misalignment in your career. Today, we’re going to dive into one of the biggest causes of that misalignment: a disconnect between your career values and your current work. Your values are the compass that guides your career decisions—so let’s make sure you’re following it!
Practical Tips:
What Are Career Values?: These are the principles and standards that matter most to you in your work. For some, it’s creativity and autonomy; for others, it’s stability and collaboration.
Rank Your Top 5 Values: Think about what matters most to you in your career. Is it work-life balance? Impact? Financial stability? Write down your top five and rank them.
Assess Your Current Role: Compare your top values with your current job. Does your role align with these values? Where are the gaps?
Reflection Prompt:
Take 10 minutes to reflect on the following:
What are the top 5 values that matter most to me in my career?
Does my current job reflect these values? If not, where are the biggest misalignments?
How might aligning my work with these values change how I feel about my career?
Tomorrow, we’re going to shift gears and talk about identifying your strengths—the natural talents and abilities you bring to the table. Knowing these will help you craft a career that feels energizing and fulfilling!
